Rep. Dave Min To Bring Irvine Pediatrician, Dr. Eric Ball, To Joint Address

March 3, 2025

Washington, D.C. —  Representative Dave Min (CA-47) will bring Dr. Eric Ball, an Irvine primary care physician, as his guest to President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress. Dr. Ball serves many Medicaid recipients, and can speak to the devastating consequences for Orange County families if House Republicans slash funding for Medicaid.

“Over 100,000 people I represent, including children and seniors, are at risk of losing their healthcare if House Republicans get their way,” said Rep. Min. “As a pediatrician who sees Medicaid patients, Dr. Ball knows firsthand the importance of ensuring that Orange County kids have access to healthcare – and he understands how catastrophic it would be to take this healthcare away.”

“Medicaid is, first and foremost, a program that provides healthcare to children. Cuts and caps to Medicaid will disproportionately hurt the kids of the United States and are inherently anti-child,” said Dr. Ball.

Dr. Ball continued, “Studies routinely show that children with access to high quality healthcare, like that provided through Medicaid, are healthier and grow up to be more fit and productive adults. Cuts to Medicaid not only jeopardize the wellbeing of our children today, but will also make America weaker in the future. My patients and their families are scared. They are worried that their children will lose their healthcare, which would make their children sicker and increase the financial burdens on their families. Cutting Medicaid is a prescription for disaster.

In California’s 47th Congressional District, 42,235 children and those under the age of 19 would have their health care coverage in jeopardy under the proposed House Republican budget.
