Education
As a father of three young kids who attend Irvine public schools, and the product of California public schools myself, I know firsthand how important public education is for our democracy and for economic opportunity. Strong public schools have been the foundation of America’s exceptionalism, and if we want the USA to continue to be the greatest country on the planet, we must do all we can to continue fully funding and improving public education. In Congress, I will work to protect our students and teachers to guarantee they have the resources necessary for the United States to compete economically and intellectually around the globe. This includes protecting the Department of Education from illegal and dangerous cuts by Elon Musk, and granting teachers the resources they need to foster and develop future generations of leaders.
I am a proud member of the California Public Higher Education Caucus, a group of lawmakers who advocate for the interests of students attending UCs, CSUs, and California community Colleges. As the representative for UC Irvine, I will continue my work to ensure UC Irvine remains a premier research institution, bringing talent from across the country and around the world to our community. Together, we are working to preserve funding for public higher education and give students from all backgrounds the chance to succeed and have access to educational opportunities.
