Staff Assistant – Office of Representative Dave Min (CA-47)
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Salary: $50,000 annually.

Representative Dave Min (CA-47) is seeking a highly motivated Staff Assistant to join our District Office team. The Staff Assistant will be expected to manage administrative duties within the District Office, serving a critical support function to the District Director and to the Director of Operations. The Staff Assistant, as directed by staff, will provide basic support in preparing briefing and prep materials for district events and will assist with the coordination of meetings, visits and events for the Congressman in district. The Staff Assistant will also support the office’s programming to recognize constituents through certificates, congratulatory notes, floor speeches, and statements for the record. The Staff Assistant will also help answer phones and greet visitors at the District Office. This is an entry-level position.

Key Responsibilities:

· Help the District Director coordinate logistics for the Member’s schedule in district.

· Organizes and assembles briefing books to prepare Member for district visits, coordinating across the staff to ensure the member is well prepared for all in-district events and visits.

· Ensures consistency in quality in all member-facing materials, including details included in the calendar for district events.

· Assists the District Director and Director of Operations in handling administrative duties including supplies; technology (including copier, phone system, and computers); GSA inventory; etc.

· Assist the Caseworker in the facilitation of the intern program: coordinate and conduct first round interviews, answer questions about phone calls, provide phone coverage.

· Assist in the facilitation of the certificate program: track, print and distribution.

· Process incoming constituent mail at the District Office.

· Support other staff members on projects and tasks as needed.

· Organizes workload to prioritize tasks in accordance with varying deadlines and ensure work is completed in an efficient and effective manner

Minimum Qualifications/Education Required

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

· Thorough understanding or experience with government agencies (county, state, and federal).

· Thoroughness and careful attention to detail.

· Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to prioritization of and recommendations on Member appointments.

· Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and Power Point.

· Able to work efficiently and effectively as a member of a team, be able to meet strict deadlines, balance multiple projects simultaneously, and work under pressure.

· Enjoy working with the public and constituents.

· Flexibility to work weekends, some holidays, and after-hours.
