Field Representative – Office of Representative Dave Min (CA-47)

Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Salary: $65,000 - $72,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Representative Dave Min (CA-47) is seeking a highly motivated, community-oriented Field Representative to join his Costa Mesa district office. This full-time position serves as the Member’s on-the-ground representative in the district, building and maintaining strong relationships with constituents, community leaders, and local stakeholders. The Field Representative reports directly to the District Director and works closely with the constituent services team and legislative staff to ensure that the Congressman’s priorities are effectively communicated and that the district’s needs are brought to Washington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and provide timely updates to the District Director and Congressman on local issues, emerging trends, and critical developments affecting the district.
  • Represent the Congressman at community meetings, events, and official functions as directed by the District Director.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with constituents, community organizations, and federal, state, and local government officials.
  • Serve as a liaison to local, state, and federal agencies to help resolve constituent concerns and ensure effective communication.
  • Track district-specific news, events, and social media posts and share relevant updates with the District Director, communications team, and DC staff.
  • Assess casework trends and identify issues requiring legislative action or oversight, coordinating with the DC team as needed.
  • Collaborate with the District Director and DC legislative staff to ensure district priorities inform the Congressman’s legislative agenda.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to public service and constituent engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly present the Congressman’s positions at public events.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with event planning and management.
  • Familiarity with Orange County and California’s 47th Congressional District strongly preferred.
  • Applicants with experience engaging with organized labor, unions, and related stakeholders are encouraged to apply.
  • 1-3 years of  prior experience in community relations, political campaigns, or government affairs preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
