“The impacts I’m more concerned about are the impacts on our local economic leaders, on our businesses, and on families,” said Rep. Min. “Whether it’s goods, whether it’s products you buy at the grocery store, electronics, medical technologies, cars, a whole slew of products are going to become extremely more expensive in the interim, making it harder for our families to get by.”

“These tariffs are really concerning to me because not only are they material issues, obviously aluminum, steel, building materials, but also cost of living increases for my employees,” said Cheryl Osborn, founder and CEO of Casco Contractors. “I’ve already had subcontractors start to put in additional items in their bids that are forecasting for tariffs. That leads my owners to want to back out of certain projects, it leads to uncertainty and downsizing.”

Watch Robert Farnsworth’s full remarks (7:07 - 11:03).
“After 38 years in business, our very survival is at stake,” said Robert Farnsworth, President and CEO of Sonnet Technologies. “We’re proud to have always manufactured in America, but our ability to be cost competitive has been threatened, and of course, that puts our jobs at risk. We need a predictable supply chain with fair prices and we can’t get that now.”
