Representative Dave Min Fights for Funding For Orange County

Washington, D.C. —Today, Representative Dave Min (CA-47) announced his Community Project Funding requests to address the most pressing needs in Orange County. Rep. Min championed funding for 15 projects that would help prevent wildfires, support first responders, and spur innovation, among other needs.  These projects include: 

  • College Park East Stormwater Infrastructure Project which would be used to design stormwater infrastructure improvements that are necessary to address chronic flooding in the City of Seal Beach’s College Park East neighborhood.
  • San Gabriel River Trash Mitigation Project which would implement mitigation measures within the San Gabriel River to reduce or eliminate trash from the river, helping to improve the cleanliness of our public beaches.
  • Regional Criminal Justice Training Center Improvements Project which would fund improvements to facilities used by Golden West College’s Regional Criminal Justice Training Center in Huntington Beach, bolstering the fitness and training of law enforcement. 
  • Huntington Beach Navigation Center which would modernize, expand, and make more accessible Huntington Beach’s Navigation Center.
  • Costa Mesa Real Time Crime Center which would establish a Real Time Crime Center (RTCC)—a forward-thinking public safety initiative designed to enhance community well-being, reduce crime, and improve the overall quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors.
  • Costa Mesa Senior Center Renovation, Roof, and HVAC Replacement Project which would upgrade the Costa Mesa Senior Center’s infrastructure and HVAC systems, ensuring OC seniors have access to clean air and healthy facilities.
  • Balboa Branch Library and Fire Station #1 Replacement Project which would remodel the Balboa Branch Library and Fire Station #1 to modernize the fire facility’s response capabilities and the community library.
  • Orange County Flood Futures Project which would identify necessary modifications to improve flood and storm resiliency.
  • City of Irvine/COAST Wildfire Prevention SR-133 Restoration Project which would be used to advance a critical wildfire prevention and mitigation initiative targeting fire-vulnerable portions of a four-mile stretch of Laguna Canyon Road (SR-133) between I-405 and SR-73 in Orange County, California.
  • Newport Harbor Patrol Building and Infrastructure Renovation Project which would upgrade the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Harbor Patrol facility to provide a safer, more reliable, and modern facility that meets the needs of both Harbor Patrol personnel and the public they serve.
  • Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project which would develop a leading innovation and entrepreneurial development hub in Irvine, the first and only hub of its kind in Orange County.
  • South Laguna Beach Fire Station Project which would replace the South Laguna Fire Station, a 1940s-era facility that no longer meets modern emergency service standards.
  • Laguna Canyon Road: Protect and Connect Project which would improve underground utility infrastructure and implement multi-model transportation options along one of the only direct routes to Laguna Beach and its seven miles of coastline.
  • Survivor and Family Empowerment (SAFE) Project which would expand services and training for constituents, law enforcement, and other entities that serve or interact with victims of domestic violence located in Orange County. 
  • Technology and Signal Upgrades Project which would implement advanced traffic signal controllers across Orange County, which can collect signal operation data every tenth of a second.
